ROAD TRIP

The kids had half-term break from 26 October - 30 October 2015. We wanted to do something fun with the kids before the holidays since Nathan gets really busy during that time. In the process of planning our trip we found out that Nathan needed to attend a managers meeting in Stuttgart, Germany on Wednesday and Thursday of that week...why not take a ROAD TRIP? We left on Saturday 24 October and drove to Folkestone, boarded the Eurotunnel train, and traveled to Calais, France.

We have never been really good at leaving when we say we are going to leave...too many dishes to wash, floors to vacuum, garbage cans -I mean rubbish bins ;)- to empty, etc. No excuse this time, we had a train to catch!!

This was a bridge we saw on the way to Folkestone. We thought it was pretty cool...coolio if you ask Kalli!

When we got to Folkestone we had to check-in...similar to checking in at the airport. We went through security and got a boarding letter for our car.

             WELCOME TO FRANCE!

I'm not tech-savvy

It's been seven years since I last posted to this blog. I thought I was locked out of it for good but, thanks to my amazing husband, I now have access! I am not sure how to edit or change things so it will be trial and error...maybe I should ask my kids for help. :]

1,2,3,4...I declare a bum war!

Kalli, Corban and Elina love to jump on the trampoline and have bum wars. (Shayla also loves to be on the trampoline and would gladly participate in a bum war if she could.) The other day when we were jumping Elina asked me if we could have a baby Clara bum war. Our friends, the Madsen's, have a baby named Clara but I could not figure out why Elina wanted to have a BABY CLARA bum war!? But then as I was saying the chant...1,2,3,4..I declare a bum war, it occurred to me that Elina was hearing 1,2,3,4...A BABY CLARA bum war! Ha Ha Ha! The things kids hear!

A weekend with Dad!

Nate was able to come out June 27th to July 1st. The kids were so excited to see him! I wondered how Shayla would react since she is just a baby, but after seeing her with him I realize I had nothing to worry about. The second she saw him she went right to him and didn't want me for a good half an hour. On Saturday we went to the glenville mini-sports plex and played some miniature golf. We took a time out in the middle of the game and ate ice cream cones while it rained and then finished our game. Elina wasn't very interested in golf but they did have play toys there for her to play on, in and around. It was a very good weekend with Dad and the kids can't wait to go out west on July 24th!

Shayla is walking

Shayla has been standing up next to things for a while now, but this last week she has really taken off with being brave and walking. She will walk for a while and then look unsure and sit down. You go girl!

Comfy and Cozy

This picture was taken at the Boren's house. Shauna was helping me start the blog and pulled this picture off her computer. Her cute kids are Samantha and Glenn.
